Ye Zhang, PhD

Ye Zhang, Principal Researcher at IMPAQ International and Visiting Associate Professor of Economics at Indiana University, is a labor economist with expertise in econometric program evaluation, labor market policy analysis, and applied econometrics. Zhang has more than 13 years of experience in the design and implementation of both experimental and non-experimental evaluations; he has worked on projects in a range of areas, including labor, education, welfare, and international development. An expert in econometric methods for evaluating the impacts of social programs in employment, job training, and education, his work has been published in economics and public policy academic and professional journals.

Zhang currently serves as Technical Director and Principal Investigator for USAID-funded evaluation and research support project in Bosnia and Herzegovina (USAID/BiH MEASURE-BiH). In Malawi, he directs a randomized controlled trial (RCT) experimental evaluation of a child labor prevention program for the Bureau of International Labor Affairs at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL/ILAB). Zhang also directs Worker Leave Analysis project for the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Zhang has also served as referee for many major academic economics journals. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from University of Maryland.
